Hi, I’m Jono.

A black and white photograph of a man sitting on a wooden stool in front of a large cloth backdrop outdoors. The man is wearing a short-sleeved button-up shirt, a baseball cap, and dark pants. He has a beard and is barefoot, with one foot on the ground and his knee bent. There is foliage visible on the left and right sides of the backdrop.

Yoneland is my Tucson tintype portrait studio. Though my practice has me making imagery through a variety of methods and techniques (which you can see here), this slice of it currently has me working with the Wet Plate Collodion process, a photographic method that was widely used during the 1800’s. The images that I’ve been creating, known to many as tintypes, are one-of-a-kind photographs that have a tendency to see people, places, and things in a way that I have not found any other photographic process to be capable of.

Want to hang out and make a tintype? Stoked on it.

Got a special event coming up that you’d like me to setup a tintype photo booth? I’d love to.

Want to just chat about whatever keeps you up at night? Into it.
